Leantec Palletizing Robots: Revolutionizing Automation in the Food Industry

In Southeast Asia’s dairy industry, automation is already the norm, with machines handling production and packaging to meet strict hygiene and safety standards. However, the final step—stacking finished products onto pallets—was still done manually. To solve this, Leantec’s team partnered with a leading dairy manufacturer and introduced the LA1717-20 robotic arm. This solution, equipped with advanced sensors and custom grippers, efficiently handled the palletizing process. By integrating our robotic system, the client achieved full automation, completing their factory’s automation journey from start to finish.

Traditionally, each production line required two to three workers for palletizing, one or two to stack boxes and another to swap out pallets. With production speeds of one box every six seconds, any manpower shortage or delays could create bottlenecks, reducing efficiency. Introducing the robotic arm changed the game, boosting efficiency with continuous operation and eliminating downtime, allowing the line to maintain high-speed output without interruptions.

Leantec not only handled hardware integration but also tackled software challenges. By enhancing Syntec’s palletizing system, we merged the palletizing parameter file and program file into a seamless software package. This solution, with minimal adjustments, can be easily replicated for future projects and adapted to different workflows. The system, integrated with customized grippers and sensors, met the client’s specific needs perfectly.

Thanks to the high flexibility, repeatability, and easy programming of Leantec robotic arms, the client saw immediate improvements in overall equipment effectiveness (OEE). This allowed for a more streamlined and optimized factory layout, improving space efficiency. By operating with standardized settings and leveraging integrated sensors, the robots also significantly enhanced production safety. Looking ahead, the same robotic systems can be seamlessly expanded into packaging and food production processes, unlocking even greater automation potential for the client.
